Your Ultimate Guide For Cheap Philadelphia Phillies Tickets

Posted by Kurt Smith

Here it is my friends, my long overdue post for helping readers save money on Phillies tickets. Hopefully, it will be worth the wait!

Phillies tickets are a very hot commodity, and demand is driving up prices significantly. Few cities love a great sports team like Philly does. If you want to find the best deal for Phillies tickets, I urge you to read this entire post. I’m sharing all the tips I could find in forums, from my own experience, and any other sources.

By the way, there’s plenty more info about Citizens Bank Park on this site, like my detailed seating guide, an extensive list of parking choices, an overview of the great food options, and much more. (And of course, be sure to bookmark my Fan Resources page.)

But for now, let’s talk about getting into the ballpark legally. I’ve broken it down for you:

Ready to get wise? OK, we’ll get going after this quick message from my friends at Gametime:

Gametime has your cheap Phillies tickets…with a lowest price guarantee, panoramic seat view photos, and great last minute deals…even after the game starts!

See how easy it is?

Save Money on Phillies Tickets, Tip #1) Phillies Website + Ticket Alert Newsletter.

The Phillies website is the most convenient way to buy Phillies tickets, but it’s not always the cheapest.

The best way to save cash buying from the Phillies is to sign up for their ticket alert newsletter. You can do that here; I highly recommend doing so. You will also need the MLB Ballpark app on your phone to store the tickets; the Phillies don’t do paper tickets anymore.

The Phillies will regularly e-mail you about ticket deals, theme nights, giveaways, etc. But more importantly for a popular team, you’ll know about ticket pre-sales, including multi-game pack opportunities.

Multi-game packs allow you to pay face price for Opening Day or popular series (they offer a package for a July Yankees series as I write this). Face price is probably the best price for such games, although you will pay ticket fees.

phillies ticket alert newsletter

It’s easy to forget about hockey in Philadelphia when baseball tickets go on sale. (I can’t believe I just typed those words.)

You’ll also know exactly when single game tickets go on sale. Again, for high demand games like a weekend July series against the Mets, face price is probably the best deal. You can immediately jump on and find good seats.

If you really want to be on top of ticket deals, you can follow the Phillies on Facebook, X, Instagram, etc., and even have alerts texted to you. Set up your own virtual Phillies zone!

Get that extra $2 in concession money for your cheese cup!

If you are buying through the website, you can make it a “power ticket”, and add $12 of concessions credit for $10. I know that’s a small savings, but there’s no reason not to take advantage of it, especially with so many great food options here.

With the team website of course, you’ll pay the ticket fees, and it’s a significant markup, which is partly why people seek other avenues.

I’ll talk a bit more about Phillies offers, like their fan clubs, in a bit.

phillies ticket office citizens bank park

No, there isn’t a Citizens Bank teller at the box office. At least I don’t think there is.

Save Money on Phillies Tickets, Tip #2) The Phillies Box Office.

I live in South Jersey. Since I’ve started this venture, I can’t tell you how many times people have told me, “Back in my day, we could walk up to the box office and get tickets in the dugout next to Mike Schmidt for two bucks!”

Well, you can still…get this…walk up to the Phillies box office to buy tickets. Can you sit in the dugout for two bucks? No, but I suspect that was an exaggeration. The best part of buying at the ticket window? No ticket fees, although you might pay a smaller fee on game day.

Being just across the river, it’s not a problem for me to do this; there’s plenty to do in Philadelphia to make the trip worth it. During non-game days, parking at the ballpark is free, and I believe you can park there as long as you like.

phillies tickets box office citizens bank park

The first base gate is the double secret ticket office location.

Most ticket windows are along 11th Street on the third base side. The Phillies are somewhat secretive about the box office hours, but I believe that it’s 9:00-5:00 on non-game days, and 8:30 to the last out on game days.

There’s also ticket windows inside the ballpark, on both the lower and upper levels, so if you’re at a game it’s an opportunity to avoid fees for your next game.

order Philadelphia phillies tickets by phone

Wait, what? I have to actually talk to someone?

Incidentally, you can also call the Phillies box office at 215-463-1000…yes, that method still exists too…and order tickets by phone. Unfortunately the Phillies do charge typical ticket fees for this, but an actual person on the other end could help you find something decent.

You might be waiting a while on the phone, and you might have to call a few times and check again, but I’ve read that you might even be lucky enough to score playoff tickets doing this. I wouldn’t depend on that, but it’s worth a try for high demand games at face value. If you’re persistent, you can save mucho dinero.

Again, the Phillies don’t do paper tickets; they’ll add your tickets to the Ballpark app.

cheap phillies tickets seatgeek gametime

If the Phillies trust SeatGeek, then so can you. But I trust Gametime too.

Save Money on Phillies Tickets, Tip #3) Third Party Sites (Like Gametime!).

As of 2026, the Phillies designated SeatGeek as their official ticket reseller. While in theory that should be an advantage, there’s plenty of tickets on a number of platforms, including StubHub, TickPick, and multiple others that are equally safe. They all put your tickets on the Ballpark app as well.

Regular readers of this blog know that I recommend Gametime; I made them my ticket reseller affiliate for reasons I detailed here. Gametime specializes in last minute tickets, which is a tip I (sometimes) recommend; they also offer a lowest price guarantee.

Important tip for using third parties: with Gametime and some other sites, you can set the display price to include the fees. If you don’t do this, always go to the checkout screen to see what the actual price will be.

cheap phillies tickets gametime

“Stick with me kid, I’ll get you into the CP Rankin Club.”

There’s good and not-so-good times to use third party providers over the Phillies website. Even with high end seats, like CP Rankin and Hall of Fame Club sections, I always compare Gametime prices to similar seats on the team website and even other providers; you’ll often be surprised at the difference.

Another important tip about using third parties: before single game tickets go on sale, the Phillies make multi-game packs available that include high value games like Opening Day or Yankees games. If you check a third party site for these games before single game tickets are on sale, you could see seriously inflated prices for these games. Don’t fall for that.

This also applies to playoff tickets; wait until tickets are actually on sale before buying from a third party provider.

Buying from third party sites is as safe as I can possibly describe. Nothing is 100% safe, but I have never had a problem with not getting tickets from major providers.

phillies game tickets facebook groups

Phillies fans are happy to help each other out. They share a common goal.

Save Money on Phillies Tickets, Tip #4) Facebook Groups, Craigslist, Etc.

With all electronic tickets, the days of finding roaming scalpers around Citizens Bank Park are more or less over. Even people that love to score a great deal aren’t keen about giving up their email to a possibly shady stranger.

That said, if you hate ticket fees as a matter of principle (and I get that), there are entities like Craigslist, eBay, and ticket exchange groups on Facebook and other social media outlets. There’s no guarantees with these, but the admins at many groups presumably take measures to protect folks.

Two examples I found (and joined) are the Philadelphia Phillies Ticket Exchange, and the PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES Tickets Exchange (note the distinction of capital letters); there are many others.

facebook groups phillies tickets

If your ticket turns out to be counterfeit, you can try the “I work here” defense.

There’s an amount of risk here, of course. Groups generally don’t guarantee anything, but many of them claim to do what they can to verify sellers. Could you get scammed? Yes. Is it likely? I would say no, unless you ignore a bunch of red flags. Bryce Harper wouldn’t be selling his extras in a Facebook group.

I read some comments on Reddit about this; many folks laughed at the thought that Facebook groups are legitimate, but no one shared any actual stories about being scammed. (Interestingly, one person shared a StubHub rip-off story.)

phillies tickets scalpers

Surely someone in this crowd has extras.

I would say treat them like scalpers. Verify whatever you can, including whether the seller is a legit season ticket holder. Don’t trust any deals that seem too good to be true, and avoid just using Facebook Marketplace. At least stick to the groups that put some checks in place.

I’ve written a bit more about buying tickets on Craigslist here, but the principles apply to any such forum.

This tip blends nicely with my next one…

cheap phillies tickets season ticket holders

If you know someone, this is a good time to reach out.

Save Money on Phillies Tickets, Tip #5) Find Season Ticket Holders.

As you’ve just read, most season ticket holders can’t go to every game. So they look for ways to avoid eating the tickets, and sometimes that’s through social media groups.

That’s one reason to reach out to season ticket holders; blast a message on whatever social media platform you prefer and ask if anyone has a full or partial plan. You might be able to find a better price for tickets that someone you trust can’t use.

There’s another reason to befriend season ticket holders, though (use your preferred definition of “befriend”). People who own season plans from year to year also get priority on single game tickets before the rest of the public does.

Phillies fans are happy to help each other out. They share a common goal.

If you’re looking for a high demand game like Opening Day at face value, and don’t want the multi-game pack, ask your friend if they’ll order tickets for you during the pre-sale. I’ll leave to you to decide how to return the favor, but this could save you the third party markup for high demand games, and you could land great seats.

Season plan holders also get priority for postseason tickets, but you’d have to be pretty nice for them to share that privilege, especially in this town.

harry potter night citizens bank park

Harry Potter Night is popular with the Smith family, and with many other fans too.

Save Money on Phillies Tickets, Tip #6) Choose The Right Game.

There are several factors that affect demand for Phillies tickets; the day of the week, the month, and the opponent all matter.

High demand games are usually Friday and Saturday games, games in late June, July, and August (and September if the Phillies are in the hunt), and games against the Mets, Yankees, and Red Sox. Depending on their fortunes, games against the Orioles and Nationals can also draw well.

Giveaway and theme nights, especially fireworks nights, can also be popular. I recently took my family to Harry Potter Night…despite it being a Tuesday night against Seattle, the ballpark was mostly full. (Got my Ravenclaw cap though!)

low demand games cheap phillies tickets

Use that sun in April kids. It does get cold in Philly.

So if all you want is to attend a Phillies game and are looking for the best deal, try a midweek non-giveaway game in April against a west coast opponent that isn’t the Dodgers (or Philly-area native Mike Trout’s Angels). You can often find a much better deal on low demand games, especially on Gametime.

If you do want to see a weekend game against a high value opponent, Sunday might be your best bet. If the Phillies are out of it in September, you can find some deals then.

high and inside pub citizens bank park

One of many places to duck out of the rain or cold.

Weather can be a factor too. Philadelphia has blazing hot days in July and the occasional frigid April day. I can testify that sitting in right field can be brutal early on a hot evening.

If you can deal with it, try checking Gametime on days when the weather isn’t conducive to baseball. You might find a swell deal, even for tickets with access to climate-controlled areas. If you need to duck out of the elements without that privilege, spend an inning inside the High & Inside Club or Pass and Stow.

cheap phillies tickets wait

“Aaaaaaand…now!”

Save Money on Phillies Tickets, Tip #7) Buy At The Right Time.

It’s sometimes worthwhile to wait until the last minute to pick up your tickets. But I wouldn’t count on this for high demand games, which is most Phillies games these days.

You can sometimes see price drops a couple of hours out from the first pitch. If you’re going to try this strategy, have a price in your mind that you can live with, and if you see something at or below that, grab it immediately. Good deals won’t last long.

citizens bank park third base gate

If you get to this point, I’d say you’re all in, and should think about ordering tickets.

Obviously this is a Gametime or Facebook groups strategy; the Phillies won’t drop prices as gametime approaches.

I don’t use this move if it’s an important game for me to attend, or if I’m bringing more than one person. Your best chance for a deal with this option is needing as few tickets as possible, and being flexible about when you can go.

For high demand games, BTW, it’s often the opposite strategy. Plan ahead as much as possible and see what you can get for face value. You can try the newsletter, box office, season ticket holder friends etc. and get tickets early. That’s not to say you won’t find anything last minute, but it’s tougher.

Phillies Parade Union League 531

If you need a few more people to get that group discount, you can find them in this town.

Save Money on Phillies Tickets, Tip #8) Bring Your Friends.

I have arranged for groups to go to Phillies games, and it’s a great deal for the organizer.

The Phillies offer small discounts on group tickets, but for certain games that they call “Phanatic Value Dates”, they offer buy one get one deals, for serious savings.

The best part? If you can persuade 50 people to go…which shouldn’t be too difficult if you work around here…you get two tickets of your own for another game. Landing free Phillies tickets feels great.

Again, this takes some effort but it’s well worth it, especially with Phillies ticket prices being what they are these days.

cheap phillies tickets fanpass

The kiosks are long gone, but the pass lingers on.

Save Money on Phillies Tickets, Tip #9) The Ballpark Pass.

This one’s for locals. The Phillies offer a Season Ballpark Pass that’s something like a season ticket; for a monthly fee or for a full season fee, you have standing room tickets for most games.

You can use this to your advantage for high value games, like Mets games or fireworks nights. You’d pay quite a bit more buying individual tickets for such games.

There’s plenty of useful standing room at Citizens Bank Park, as I detail here. You might also be able to look around for unoccupied seats, but you won’t likely be able to snag a seat in a high value section.

citizens bank park ballpark pass

Don’t hold up the line!

One favorite trick people use is to search for available seats online after the game starts and use one of those. You’ll have better luck doing this in the upper level, where ushers are nowhere near as strict. If you want to be nice and legal, the Phillies offer seat upgrades when they can, but obviously that will cost a few extra bucks.

You’re not allowed to transfer your tickets to anyone else, but forum dwellers have suggested letting someone use your account if you can’t go. I suppose that’s doable, but I expect teams will find a way to prevent this in the future.

In the past the Phillies offered full season passes with 53 games over the season, as well as passes for April, August and September. Either way, it’s a bargain even if you go to half the games.

The Phillies will let you know when passes are available in their newsletter, but they sell out fast, so be ready.

cheap phillies tickets fan clubs

“Does membership include a blanket?”

Save Money on Phillies Tickets, Tip #10) Join The Fan Club.

Team fan clubs aren’t the big money savers they used to be, but the Phillies still offer a nice fan club deal for your young Phillies fan. For a small fee, your kid gets a complimentary ticket plus a bunch of other goodies, along with small discounts on additional tickets.

There’s also Club 215 for teenage kids (13-17), which includes the same ticket offers plus the City Connect hockey jersey among other things. Adult level membership doesn’t include a ticket, but you do get a nice hat and discounts for certain games.

As I said, fan club memberships won’t save you that big on tickets, but if you’re taking the kids anyway, get the membership and all the cool stuff that goes with it for them. Who knows, you might get to go to a cool event.

capital one phillies tickets

If Capital One can afford an office in Manhattan, they can afford to slide you some cash back.

Save Money on Phillies Tickets, Tip #11) Use The Right Credit Card.

Capital One is the official card of MLB, and they offer some nice benefits to baseball fans. I’m a cardholder myself; in addition to 3% cash back on ticket purchases from any provider, I can use the rewards and get 8% back on tickets.

The only catch is that for the 8% rewards you have to go through their ticket provider, which may or may not be the best deal, especially for Phillies tickets. I’d still check Gametime first. But now you can figure in the 8% you’ll be getting back into the cost.

best credit cards for baseball

20% off of gear and souvenirs is no small savings.

You can find out more here about MLB rewards for Capital One members, including 20% discounts on swag from my friends at MLBShop. There’s no reason to pass up that and 3% back on your ticket purchases, and the rewards can add up if you go to a lot of ballgames.

Citizens Bank once offered ticket deals for their card members, which would make sense given the name of the ballpark, but of late I can’t find anything about that. It wouldn’t hurt to check with them if you have one, though.

phillies community cheap tickets

Start here with your perception of Philadelphia sports fans, and you will often be pleasantly surprised.

Save Money on Phillies Tickets, Tip #12) Help Your Community.

Are you an athletic sort that will run for baseball tickets? The Phillies host a yearly 5K run/walk in March that costs $65 to enter, but you’ll get four tickets to an April game for your effort.

Even with a low demand game, you’ll come out ahead on the ticket prices for that, and you’re doing something nice for your fellow human.

You’ll also get a nice shirt, a Team Store discount and a few other gifts from the Phillies, so it’s well worth the knee strain. The 5K sells out fast though, so pay attention to your Phillies newsletter.

phillies tickets community 5K

Do the right thing, even when the Phanatic isn’t watching.

You can learn more about the 5K and other Phillies community efforts here. In the past for some games, the Phillies offered free entry and a hot dog to green-minded folks who picked up trash between innings; check the “Red Goes Green” section to see about this in the future.

When a team is in as high demand as the Phillies are, there’s not many ticket offers for do-gooders, but it’s worth checking the Community section. You might find discounts for military members, first responders, etc., or discount codes on theme nights.

If nothing else you might find a cause that you can participate in with the Phillies, and learn that Philly folks aren’t so bad after all. You could even meet some season ticket holders.
